About Us

St Helens Carers Centre is an independent registered charity which is governed by Carers and works to improve the quality of life for informal Carers in the borough of St Helens. The Centre is part of the Princess Royal Trust for Carers, a national network of independent Carers’ Centres.

Our Vision is of a society in which Carers are recognised, valued and supported, by the government, those who provide services, and the community. To uphold our vision we aim to treat all Carers as individuals, working with them to identify their specific issues, respecting them and their thoughts and feelings about their caring role.

The Centre aims to be a one-stop shop for Carers, in which they can obtain emotional support, information and advice and access services to support them or give them a break from their caring role

We have a team of Carer Support Officers and Benefits Advisers, along with administration staff, sessional Therapists and a team of Volunteers - Carers and Ex Carers who are able to give some of their time to support the work of the Centre .

By October 2009 we had over 3,500 local Carers registered and receiving services from us with another 80+ Carers registering each month.
