St Helens Carers Centre is an independent registered charity which is
governed by Carers and works to improve the quality of life for informal
Carers in the borough of St Helens. Although a local independent
organisation, we are a network member of the national Carers Trust
(formerly, The Princess Royal Trust for Carers and Crossroads Care).
Our Vision is of a society in which Carers are recognised, valued and
supported, by the government, those who provide services, and the
community. To uphold our vision we aim to treat all Carers as
individuals, working with them to identify their specific issues,
respecting them and their thoughts and feelings about their caring role.
The Centre aims to be a one-stop shop for Carers, in which they can
obtain emotional support, information and advice and access services to
support them or give them a break from their caring role
We have a team of Carer Support Officers, Benefits Advisers, Carer Assessment & Review staff, along
with specialist staff and Volunteers
- Carers and Ex Carers who are able to give some of their time to
support the work of the Centre. We also have specialist team
based in the local hospitals and a separate Young Carers Centre.
By the end of 31st March 2018, there were 12,015 active Carers registered with us, 1,298 new carers registered with us in the year 2017/18.
