The organisation is an independent local
charity which is governed by a Board of Trustees. All our Trustees are
volunteers who are not paid and are either Carers or former carers
themselves from the local community.
The Board of Trustees employ our staff team to carry the day to day work
and support, while the Board is responsible for the overall strategy and
governance of the organisation.
Our Board of Trustees are:
Jane Dearden MBE DL – Chair
Jane is a former Carer and has a wealth of experience in Carer Support
services and campaigning. Jane is also vice chair of Crossroads Care
North West and also chair of Carers UK St Helens.
Canon Cllr Geoff Almond – Treasurer
Geoff, a former head teacher is a Carer for his wife and in 2012-13
was Mayor of St Helens. Geoff is also on the national board of Carers
Alma Sisson – Secretary
Alma is a Carer and a School governor.
Joyce is the former Director of Nursing at Knowsley and St Helens
Teaching Hositpal who is now retired, she is also Chair of Crossroads
Care north west.
Theresa is a Carer and is a former manager from St Helens Council
and encouraged the Centre to start its work in Income Maximisation.
Sheila Whalley MBE
Sheila is a former JP and a full time Carer.
