Who Is A Carer

A Carer is anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction cannot cope without their support.

Support for Adult Carers

We offer information, advice and support to over 12,500 Adult Carers in St Helens. Our support is free and confidential. Telephone us or drop in to us at our base.

Support for Parent Carers

If you are a Carer of a disabled child then we help manage the Listen 4 Change Parent Forum.  Contact us for more details.

Support For Young Carers

We have a Young Carers Centre that supports over 500 local Young Carers.  The service has its own website.

Online Benefits Chat

Every Thursday between 10am and 1pm beat the queues and log on here to have direct one to one live chat access to our team of Carer Welfare Benefits Advisors.  The Chat box appears in the bottom right hand side of the screen between 10am and 1pm.

Benefits Advice & Help

Every year our team of Benefits Advisors help local Carers claim in excess of £3,000,000.  Many Carers do not know what they might be entitled to.  Contact us for more information.

Training Opportunities

We offer a wide range of training and leisure courses to support and help you. Some are to help you in your caring role, some are designed to offer you a break.

Carer Discount Card

Our Carer Discount Card is issued to every new Carer and gives you discounts to hundreds of businesses and attractions. If you dont have one or your has expired, call into our centre.

Subsidised Gym Memberships

In Partnership with St Helens Council we are able ot offer substantial discounts on Gym Memberships to carers registered with us.  Call in for for more details

Carers Emergency Card

Ever worried about what would happen if you were involved in an emergency and could not care for your loved one?  Our Carers Emergency Card scheme sets up an emergency plan of action that kicks into operation if the unthinkable should happen giving you peace of mind.

We offer training and support to professionals and employers on Carer Awareness and how you can support Carers and/or link in with our service.   Contact us for more details.
