Support Groups

Many Carers feel that just talking to someone else who is in a similar situation provides them with strength and support

There are Carer Support Groups in several local areas; they have funds available which members use for occasional meals or trips out. The groups are friendly and informal and welcome new members.

Carer Support Officers from the Centre regularly attend and will accompany new Carers to meetings.

Groups at the Carers Centre:
Parent Carers Group
Meets at 1pm on the last Wednesday of each month.

Dementia Carers Group
Meets at 11am on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month.

Stroke Carers Group
Meets at 1pm on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.

Mental Health Carers Groups:
Heath Park Lodge Carers Group
Meets at 10am on the last Saturday of each month at Heath Park Lodge, Thatto Heath Road, St Helens.

Vista Road Carers Group
Meets at 6pm on the last Thursday of each month at St James Parish Church, Church St, Haydock

General Carer Support Groups
Billinge & Garswood Carers Group
meets at 1.00pm on the 1st Tuesday of each month at The Foresters Arms, Main Street, Billinge.

Haydock Carers Group
Meets at 1.15pm on the 1st Tuesday of each month, at St James’ Parish Church, Church Street, Haydock.

Kershaw Carers Group
Meets at 1.30pm on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the Kershaw Day Centre, Portland Street, St Helens.

Newton Carers Group
Meets at 1.30pm on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, at the Crownway Community Centre, Crown Street, Earlestown.

Rainford Carers Group
Meets at 1.30pm on Wednesdays, two Rainford venues used, call Carers Centre for details.

Sutton Carers Group
Meets at 1.30pm monthly, call Carers Centre for venue details.

Windle Pilkington Carers Group
Meets at 1.30pm on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at Windle Pilkington House, King Street, St Helens.
