Caring can be quite demanding and some of the skills required may be new to you. Also, caring can become isolating and mean that Carers lose opportunities for themselves.

We have a range of training opportunities for Carers. This can be training to support you in your caring role, recreational classes to give you a break, or courses to introduce computer skills and return to work training. All courses are free of charge to Carers and are usually held at the Carers Centre and are informal. Our training courses are designed around the needs of Carers. They are usually half day sessions, to fit around Carer’s commitments.

We appreciate the very nature of a caring role may prevent some Carers accessing training, and will look to support those Carers to obtain respite care for their Cared for person. If you are interested in booking a place on a training course, or would like to discuss any other training needs, or if you require further information about our training programme, please telephone or drop in, and ask to speak to our Training Coordinator.
